The Invite to Write OWFI affiliate changed its meeting date and time from the third Saturday of the month to the second Thursday evening of each month. The meeting will begin at 8 PM on Zoom beginning October 12, and will last until 9 or 10 PM
            The group discusses different aspects of writing and is preparing entries for the OWFI writing competition for 2024.
    Anyone who is interested in joining the group can email a request to [email protected]. The group posts attachments for handouts and manuscripts for critiquing on their Messenger group. The link for the meetings is also posted there.
              

Invite to Write will have William Bernhardt as a special speaker. Bernhardt, best-selling author of more than forty books and writing expert, will speak at the May 2, meeting. Those able to attend in person will meet at 35427 State Highway 58, 2 miles north of Hydro. Others will attend by Zoom, including the special speaker. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting begins at 10 AM.

William Bernhardt, the author of many crime/legal novels and the Red Sneaker books on writing, founded the Red Sneaker Writing Center to support writers. The Center and Bernhardt host the annual WriterCon in Oklahoma City and small-group seminars in various locations across the nation. He is one of the most sought-after writing instructors in the nation. Invite to Write is fortunate to have him speak to the group.

Attending in person were Joyce Carney, Beverly House, Janet Smith, Norma Hale, and Vivian Zabel. The group discussed areas of writing interest, what some members have written, and ideas for upcoming meetings. Benefits of being OWFI members were listed.
